Sludge dryer

The dewatered sludge of ARA Pustertal and ten other municipal waste water treatment plants is dried to granulate within a belt dryer.
The water content is decreased from 72 – 82% within the dewatered sludge to 4 -5% within the granulate. 40 containers (net weight 12,5 metric tons) are reduced to 8 – 10 containers every week.
This ia a weight reduction of 75 – 80% Conveyor screws will bring the dewatered sludge to the belt dryer. At 140°C the water is evaporated.
The energy to heat the circulating air is generated by the thermal treatment plant.
